We have good news! We will be offering babysitting at SEEK2019 through an outside vendor, A Helping Hand, for children ages 18 months to 10 years only January 4 – 6 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Since we have limited space, we encourage you to register as soon as possible. Registration will close for babysitting once we hit our capacity of 150 children.
Following is a list of frequently asked questions. If you have any questions that are not covered below, please email us at [email protected] with ‘babysitting’ in the subject line.
What is the cost of babysitting?
Babysitting prices are presented below:
|1 Day||All 3 Days|
|2 or more children||$100||$200|
The actual cost of babysitting is $350 per child. FOCUS is assuming the majority of that cost to ensure that babysitting does not prevent families from attending the conference. If you would like to make a donation beyond the fee, there will be opportunities to do so at the conference and after.
Who is the Vendor providing babysitting at SEEK 2019?
Our vendor, A Helping Hand, is a professional child care company that specializes in providing child care at conferences and other special events. As part of the firm’s screening process, all caregivers are interviewed, receive a background check, participate in the Indianapolis Archdiocesan safe environment training, and have gone through additional in-house screening steps.
How do I register my children for babysitting?
NOTE: Babysitting registration is not complete until you’ve registered and paid for SEEK, and have registered with A Helping Hand.
When and how will I pay for babysitting?
Each family will pay during the SEEK registration process. After you have selected a family registration option, you will be able to select your babysitting option, and then will be able to pay for babysitting right along with other SEEK registration costs.
What if we can’t afford the babysitting fees?
Our goal is to make babysitting available this year and for many years to come. To accomplish this, we are charging a fee for babysitting. However, if the cost is prohibitive and would prevent you from attending the conference, please reach out to us by clicking here to learn about financial aid.
If I’m applying for financial assistance, when should I register with A Helping Hand?
Please register with A Helping Hand right away. This will ensure that your slots are held for you until you complete the financial aid process.
My child has special needs. Can they participate in babysitting?
Our vendor, A Helping Hand, has cared for children with a variety of special needs. Please contact A Helping Hand to discuss your particular requirements.
Will walk-ins be accepted at the conference?
If there is available space, walk-in babysitting will be an option. Payment at the door will be by cash or check only.
Where will babysitting be located at Conference?
Babysitting will be located in the same building as all Lifelong Mission Track events: the JW Marriot Hotel, in rooms 201-205. From these rooms it’s about a 5-minute indoor walk to the Indianapolis Conference Center where the SEEK2019 main stage is located.
There are four rooms. Can siblings stay together?
Children will be divided into four mixed-age rooms. In most circumstances, siblings or friends should be able to stay together.
What will my child do during babysitting?
A Helping Hand will have daily themes, a varied schedule of large and small-group activities, plus plenty of time and materials for independent play. Parents will receive a schedule plus other documents when they drop off their child(ren).
What will my child eat?
We are working with the Marriott to provide child-friendly food and drinks while they’re on site. If your child has dietary needs please make them known when you register your child on A Helping Hand’s website.
Will my child need their SEEK name tag for babysitting?
Yes, please drop your child off with their SEEK2019 name tag for check-in and check-out.
